New entry rules as of 3rd March

Travel with the Personal Touch

The mandatory rapid test for travellers into the Netherlands will be replaced by a NAAT test as of 3rd March 2021, and the period of validity will also change.

Type of test

As of 3rd March 2021, the PCR test requirement will be replaced by the NAAT test requirement. This NAAT test is an overarching name, which also includes the PCR tests. All the tests that fall under the NAAT tests are also permitted by the Dutch government.

Validity period

A negative NAAT test must be taken less than 12 hours before boarding. Another option is to have a negative NAAT test that is taken less than 72 hours before arrival into the Netherlands and to supplement it with a negative rapid test taken less than 4 hours before boarding.

Rapid test locations abroad

Since 23rd January 2021, passengers travelling into the Netherlands have to show a negative PCR test of up to 72 hours old upon arrival plus a negative rapid test before boarding, which should not be older than four hours. Since the rapid test can lead to logistical problems, for example, if there is no rapid test facility in the vicinity of the airport. The following changes have now been made. The new measures as of 3rd March 2021 are also implemented in the checklist from the Dutch government.
