As a business traveller, you probably spend a lot of time on planes or trains. Fortunately, more and more airlines and train operators are providing Wi-Fi on board. This enables you to access your emails, have conversations on Skype, or just browse the internet during your journey. But Wi-Fi access is not yet entirely commonplace, so here are some handy apps you can also use offline:
- The Google Maps app enables you to store maps and directions offline. The neatly saved routes show you the distance, estimated time of arrival, and alternative routes to your chosen destinations.
- The Evernote app helps you make notes in a quick and organised way.
- The Word Lens app allows you to translate text in real time, simply by pointing your smartphone’s camera.
- The Genius Scan app quickly turns interesting articles into handy PDFs.
- The Duolingo app helps you keep your language skills up to scratch, or even to improve them.
- The Schiphol app features a comprehensive map and can help you remember where you parked your car.
