On Thursday 4 January 2018, the employees of the regional bus and train transport in the Netherlands have announced to go on strike. All employees of the bus transport companies Arriva, Connexxion, Qbuzz, Keolis and EBS will take part in the strike actions.
During the strike, the trade unions expect that only in Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam a few busses will be available for travellers and that the regional train traffic in North Brabant and Limburg will be completely shut down. In the rest of the country it is possible that fewer trains will operate in the areas with other train operators than the NS.
