The entire Dutch government as a customer – something to be proud of
- Tuesday 4 December 2018

VCK Travel has won the tender to serve the entire Dutch government. As a result, not only all ministries, but also the National Police will now be using our services for the coming years. The parties participating in the tender had to meet high demands in terms of data security and have a transparent revenue model. These requirements, particularly the latter, were not surprising, because public money is involved.
These demanding requirements were absolutely no problem for us. “In our business, the only thing that matters is the added value for our customers,” says Ed Berrevoets, Managing Director VCK Travel. “This means listening, understanding and anticipating. Many years ago, we already set up a 100% transparent service for the Dutch government. This includes being open about costs and revenues.” Thanks to our ISO 27001 certification, data security in the context of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is also covered. In fact, VCK Travel was the first travel management company (TMC) in the Netherlands to receive this certification.
Over the past six years, we have been arranging all business trips for the government’s 3W Department, a collaboration that is now continued. In addition, we will serve the Ministry of Justice and Security, the Ministry of Defence and the Police, as well as the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service. This is essentially the entire central government. On 1 December 2018, we started serving all these units, with the exception of the Police, for whom services will start on 1 January 2019. “A lot of hard work has gone into setting up the operation and processes, but we managed to get it all done on time,” says Berrevoets proudly. “We’re very happy to serve a customer with such special characteristics. It’s the reward for our transparent way of working and our customer focus. The government has experienced first-hand that we adapt our business processes to the customer’s wishes in order to achieve maximum efficiency and cost savings.”
