Schiphol shows impressions of new pier

Schiphol has released impressions of the interior and exterior of the new pier, which will be opened at the end of 2019.

With the construction of the pier, which consists of three floors and eight gates, the airport wants to accommodate the growing number of travellers and aircrafts. There will be build five gates for small aircrafts on the north side and three gates for large aircrafts on the south side. The gates for the wide-body aircrafts can also be transformed into gates for smaller aircrafts. Because biomaterials, insulating glass, solar panels and recycled marble and plastic are incorporated in the design, this new pier will be the most sustainable of the airport. The new pier will be built south of the existing B-pier and passengers will be able to reach it via a temporary passage. In 2023 the opening of the new terminal is planned, which will connect the two piers. It is expected that the new pier will be named A-pier. Here, you can look at the impressions of the new pier and terminal.
