Schiphol doubles taxiway over A4 for more safety

In cooperation with the aviation sector and the government, Schiphol is taking measures to improve the safety at the airport. One of these measures is the doubling of the existing taxiway that runs over the A4 highway with a viaduct.

Expanding the taxiway between the Kaagbaan and Zwanenburglaan creates a double driveway for airplanes around Schiphol which reduces the number of crossings on the runway. For the realization of this plan, a number of freight buildings must be demolished and rebuilt on the southeast side of the airport. Schiphol expects that the double taxiway will be realized in 2021.
