New tariff types Thalys

As of 10 December 2017, Thalys will change the offer of tariff types in the train. In respond to all the needs of the traveller, an additional class will be added and the separation between Comfort 1 and comfort 2 will no longer be applicable.

From the end of this year you can choose from three different classes: Premium, Comfort and Standard. Although the tariff structure changes due to the arrival of the new Comfort class, the rates will not be higher. This means you can benefit from additional service and comfort for the same price.

Premium
The Premium Class offers travellers the most complete and luxurious travel option, with spacious first class seats, meals served at your seat, free international newspapers and the possibility to book a taxi in Brussels or Paris during your train trip. Also, travellers with a Premium Class ticket can use the lounges at the different Thalys trainstations like Brussels, Paris and Cologne. As of 10 December 2017, Premium Class travellers also benefit from a faster Wifi connection in the train. Premium train tickets can be changed or canceled free of charge without any conditions.

Comfort
The newest “middle class” of Thalys, offers you the opportunity to travel in a first class seat without the additional Premium Class services, for a lower ticket price. For a reduced rate you can travel in the Comfort Class, with the comfort and space of a Premium Class seat. Comfort Class travellers can benefit from free Wifi in the train and can use the Thalys Welcome Bar for a snack or a drink. Comfort tickets can be changed up to the last minute before departure of the train. The change costs are € 15  per ticket, plus the possible price difference of a new ticket. Cancellation of the ticket is possible for 50% of the ticket price.

Standard
In the former Comfort 2 class, the Standard Class, you will travel in a Second Class seat and benefit from free Wifi during the train journey. Travellers can also use the Thalys Welcome Bar on the train. For the Standard train tickets, the same change and cancellation conditions apply as for the Comfort ticket. For €15, the ticket (plus the possible price difference of the new ticket) can be changed until the last moment before departure of the train. Cancellation of the ticket is possible for 50% of the ticket price.
