Hurricane Maria has made landfall on the northern and eastern regions of the Dominican Republic, as a category 3, and is now on its way to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Travellers must be prepared for flight delays and cancellations.
Update Wednesday 20 September 2017 12.00 uur:
Dominica: The airport has reportedly sustained damage and has been closed. The storm is also affecting nearby islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe. We advise travelers not to travel to Dominica.

Puerto Rico: Wednesday morning, 20 September 2017, Maria has made landfall on Puerto Rico. Evacuation orders have been issued for coastal regions on the eastern side of the country. In mountain areas floods and mud currents are possible. A hurricane warning remains in effect for all areas of Puerto Rico and the National Hurricane Center says that certain locations across the country may be uninhabitable for weeks or months. Travellers have to expect cancellations of flights.
Saint Vincent: A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as Hurricane Maria approaches. At this moment no flight disruptions are reported.
British Virgin Islands: Late in the evening, hurricane Maria will make landfall on the British Virgin Islands. A hurricane warning remains in effect for all areas of the British Virgin Islands. Several flights from and to the airports are cancelled.
Saint Lucia: A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Saint Lucia as hurricane Maria approaches. No flight disruptions are reported yet.
Update Wednesday 20 September 2017 12.00 uur:
US Virgin Islands: Maria is approaching the US Virgin Islands. A hurricane warning remains in effect for all areas of the US Virgin Islands. The National Hurricane Centre warns for huge storms and floods in Saint Croix. Many flights from and to the airports are cancelled.
