Flight cancellations due to snow in the US

Today, Wednesday 21 March 2018, nearly 2800 flights to and from the airports in New York, Philadelphia and Boston in the US have been cancelled due to heavy snowfall and strong winds.

Wednesday morning 30 cm of snow will fall in New York. The predictions for Philadelphia are between 30 and 40 cm and in Boston 25 cm is expected. The combination of strong winds and heavy snowfall makes this storm a blizzard. Not only the flight traffic is affected by the weather conditions, but also the train traffic in the mentioned cities is disrupted.
