Electronic Letter of Guarantee

As of today, Air France and KLM will accept an electronic version of the ‘Letter of guarantee’ (in PDF format) as proof that passengers are eligible for the Marine, Offshore, and Wind Energy rates. This is an addition to the existing regulations. On request, the electronic version must be shown at check-in or during boarding.The letter must contain the following information:  

For Marine passengers:

  • Name of the passenger
  • Date of departure
  • Name of the ship (this must be the same name as specified in the reservation)
  • Port of departure or arrival
  • Position on board the ship (e.g., captain or inspector)

For Offshore or Wind Energy passengers:

  • Name of the passenger
  • Date of departure
  • Name of the drilling platform or wind farm (this must be the same as specified in the reservation)
  • Position on board the drilling platform or wind farm (e.g., diver or geologist)

If passengers are unable to show the Letter of guarantee, they are obliged to purchase a new ticket at the normal, published rate.
