Italy: Restrictions on arrivals at Milan's Linate airport to be implemented on 8 August
Linate Airport (LIN) will be temporarily closed to arriving flights on 8 August during two specified periods. The restriction, which will be in place between 07.00 and 10.00, and from midday to 16.00 (local time), is being implemented to facilitate the deactivation of an unexploded Second World War bomb in Segrate municipality (Lombardy), which houses the airport.
Travel advice
Delays and possible cancellations to departing flights can be expected while the restrictions are in force, and for some time after they end, as the authorities seek to clear flight backlogs. In addition, localised travel disruption is possible in the vicinity of the airport on 8 August, due to the possible implementation of road closures or diversions while the deactivation operation is carried out.
Passangers scheduled to arrive at Linate airport on 8 August are advised to contact the relevant airline or VCK Travel for further details on the status of their flight.
