Several flights to and from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Orly Airport (ORY), which serve the capital Paris, on 21 July were cancelled during a strike by air traffic controllers that commenced late on the previous day. Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced the cancellation of 48 flights to several cities, including Marseille (MRS) in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Beauvais (BVA) (which serves Paris, but located in Picardie region), Carcassonne (CCF) and Béziers (BZR) in Languedoc-Roussillon region, while Spanish carrier Iberia suspended 50% of its services from Spain's capital Madrid to ORY.
Travel Advice
- Passengers scheduled to fly to or from the country during and right after the industrial action should contact the relevant airline for information on possible changes to flight schedules, and arrive at the airport early to prevent their seat from being allocated to standby passengers.
- Passengers planning to fly to or from the country on the day should consider making alternative travel arrangements, where possible, to minimise inconvenience.
