Reconstruction of runway Warsaw Airport

Work on the runway intersection, scheduled for September 2010, does not mean the airport will be closed to all traffic. A shortened 1300-metre runway will remain open for smaller passenger aircraft with a capacity of about 50 seats. 

The work is scheduled to take 4 days to complete and will be carried out during the first three weekends in September:

• 3 Sept 2010, 23:30h to 6 Sept 2010, 5:00h (2 days)*
• 10 Sept 2010, 23:30h* to 12 Sept 2010, 8:00h (1 day)*
• 17 Sept 2010, 23:30h* to 19 Sept 2010, 8:00h (1day)*

*plus the night before and after

So far, three airlines – LOT Polish Airlines, Czech Airlines and Swiss Airlines – have announced their flight schedules for the period. The three carriers will operate services to Zurich, Prague, Budapest, as well as domestic flights to Cracow and Wrocław.
