Mexico: Mexicana de Aviación files for bankruptcy

National carrier Mexicana de Aviación (MX) filed for bankruptcy protection. Airline officials maintain that flights other than those already cancelled will not be affected; however, should Mexicana's financial situation deteriorate further, additional services may be suspended.

We will advise passengers who wish to fly with the airline to choose an alternative airline. If you wish to fly Mexicana we will inform you according our procedure.
